Statement of Support for Cliff Whitby
We, the Concerned Clergy of Middle Georgia, have gathered to show our unwavering support for Mr. Cliff Whitby, candidate for Mayor, Macon-Bibb County. We are united in our resolve and determined in our commitment to his candidacy and election for Mayor of Macon-Bibb County.
This current investigation is being made into accusations that were publicized years ago and reviewed during a separate federal case investigation. We all know that he was exonerated in 2018, from all federal charges in that case. So, we must ask ourselves,
“Why is it that this several-years-old accusation, that was previously reviewed, being dug up for investigation just weeks before our, most crucial, mayoral election?”
What is the real motivation behind this?
What we are experiencing is an intentional assault on the collective consciousness of our community, all in the name of politics. We are confident the voters are smarter than that, and we will not stand idly by and allow this to continue. We stand firmly against propaganda, false narratives, intimidation, and smear campaigns against Mr. Whitby.
Macon-Bibb deserves better, and we will not quiver in our resolve.
We support Mr. Whitby for Mayor, Macon-Bibb County.
We support Mr. Whitby, because of his record for being a leader on the economic frontlines, bringing more than $2 billion of private investment which netted more than 2000 jobs for families in our community, as a successful businessman he has been a job creator, as a citizen he has promoted the goodwill and well-being of Macon-Bibb County, he has been generous in using his gifts, talents, and resources to better this community, he is a man of faith, family, and is one who is poised- having the right temper and temperament to lead in times like these.
It is on these attributes that he should be judged by the voters, and it is these attributes that clearly make him the person most qualified to move Macon-Bibb forward.
He has been tried, he has been tested, and he can be trusted to lead this community forward through the restoration of fairness, balance, and equity for jobs, decent income, and education.
No weapon formed against us will prosper.
