Fact vs Fiction
Bishop TD Jakes, founder, and pastor of The Potter’s House, welcomes Surgeon General, Vice Admiral Dr. Jerome Adams to discuss coronavirus and its impact on black and brown communities.
These men speak candidly about the factors that are leading to the disproportionate number of deaths of black people related to this global pandemic.
They debunk rumors and address concerns and challenges that face the black community.
Socioeconomic factors lead to increased exposure and lack of adequate health care, AND environmental factors prevent proper social distancing measures.
This is first a life issue for individuals of all age groups, colors and creeds, but secondly, this is a matter of prevention to eliminate the spread of this disease to the most vulnerable which is also extremely significant.
While physical distancing is key we must to find ways to stay connected and communicate; our mental health depends on it.
Also, exercise, sufficient sleep, proper nutrition, and reducing alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana use will be essential to building up the body’s defense and strengthening our immune system.
